ELEGANCE

Based on the novel by Kathleen Tessaro

This story brings the appeal of classic romantic comedy to a new and very modish stage with the visual glamour of the world’s most inventive fashionistas – a narrative combining all the brilliance of British wit, the impertinence of French taste and the American gift to learn and to triumph.

One book changes the life – and the world – of an American woman in London.  The book (real) is slim, with a simple title, Elegance.  Its written by a French fashion guru, Madame Dariaux.  And it rescues Louise Canova from a fake marriage and – through a series of experiences that could happen only in contemporary wacky England – leads to an education in love and personal style.

Elegance is all about love.  Culturally, emotionally, the whole idea of elegant romance is back in the territory of Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant and like true love, never goes out of style.

This romantic and comedic story can be a movie love letter to Paramount’s golden age of 40s and 50s wit. Remember wit is infectiously commercial.  This story winks at you.
